In Singapore, every day is summer, but there are different kinds.
There's the hot, crawling type that scratches at your balcony doors waiting to be let in, drenching the bedsheets with your body sweat overnight. There's also bright days with screaming cicadas and children in the playground and clothes drying to a nice crisp outside. Then there's a type of summer that's blanketed in a rosy sort of glow, where flowers blossom underneath your feet, and when the sun hits anything green it's like the earth was only just created.
When those days come you grab at it, you take it with all you got. And you wear a pale pink sweetheart dress with flowers on it as a cocktail umbrella on top of your iced lemonade.
